About Our Year
Obviously the Fall marching/field show season is a major part of our
program.  The field show is our home football game half time show
that we take on the road to tournaments to compete against other
schools.  So we perform at:
  • All home football games (usually at Glover stadium in
downtown Anaheim).  Oh, by the way, that includes home
playoff games if the football continues into the playoffs (GO
    REBELS!)
  • Four to six tournament competitions each year.
  • Potentially several parades
  • and of course our own hosted tournament.
We encourage lots of friends and family to come out to all our
performances (times, prices, and directions are posted a week or
two in advance on the Director's site).  The performance changes
each week at the students learn more and add details each week!

Things parents should know:
  1. Lots of help is needed - there are 160 performers to keep
track of, help with uniforms, and then there are trucks, loading
... see our volunteer page or come out to our meetings to sign
    up to help.
  2. Show our Rebel Pride - Hats, Shirts, Jackets in our colors and
logo are available for purchase - or just WEAR THE RED!
  3. Several Student Fundraiser are held during this time -
proceeds go to the students account (I know it is busy, but
this is a good way to help pay off your fees)

Overnight? We have tried to do one overnight trip a season - in
2007 it was one night - Saturday a tournament and Sunday a fun
day at Magic Mountain.  Note: The cost of these trips (~$100
including tickets) is EXTRA and not included in the fees.

Our Tournament!  And the biggest thing to know about ... well each
fall we host a tournament.  The Saturday before Thanksgiving is our
day (well, weekend when you count set up and clean up!).  We need
everyone - students, parents, friends, vendors, sponsors ...
everyone to help.  The tournament is all day (and into the night)
long - we serve food, park buses, take care of judges, usher, clean
up --- and lots more.  We have several sections devoted to it in this
website - see
Tournament pages, as well as the Volunteer page
The Summertime actually begins our year.  During the
Summer the board is meeting and planning the various things
that go on.  However, more importantly, the students are
learning their music.  You need to know the following:

  • Fall Music (not only the Field Show, but Pep band and
warm ups) is available from the Director's Website
  • July is "voluntary" sectional practices.  Usually twice a
week for several hours.  Check the websites for specific
info - everyone in town is encouraged to attend.
  • August is BAND CAMP.  A absolute must.  Usually the 2
to 3 weeks before school starts, held 8-5 Mon - Fri at
Savanna.  This lays out the basics of the fall show - all
Musicians and Colorguard are required to attend!  This
is a very demanding time - be sure to read all about
preparing for it, we will have info out about 2 weeks
    before.
  • The first week of band camp also means:
  1. The first Participation Fee is due
  2. Students are measured and assigned uniforms
  3. Student Packets (which include contact info,
medical forms, and more) are sent home and
    must be returned.
  4. Musicians are measured and order shoes (about
    $45)
  5. Colorguard are measured and order uniforms
    (incl shoes) (about $150 - $200)
  • Usually camp ends with an evening Dinner and
demonstration of what the students have learned
(sometimes we have a football game instead!)
